Rodgers Ranch is a registered historical site, and used to be a real working farm.  The city of Pleasant Hill has kept and maintained the core of the farm, and has given us the opportunity to resurrect it as a place to learn about gardening and farming. We meet every Saturday as a group.  Official hours are 10am to 12pm, but we almost always stay longer. Members go there on any other day regularly to water or do various tasks. We are a group that meets on the first Sunday of Every month. Our main purposes are to explore alternative economies, divert unnecessary landfill waste, connect with our neighbors, and have fun doing it! We are like freecycle.org, but at a Location! In 1988, FATRAC was created to work with the California Department of Parks and Recreation in developing and constructing a system of trails within the Folsom Lake and Auburn State Recreation Area (ASRA) near Sacramento. FATRAC's purpose was to educate trail users about proper trail stewardship including maintenance and trail building techniques. This group assists Pt Reyes National Seashore staff in removing invasive exotic plant species. Park Service staff leads groups one Thursday each month and one Sunday each month, and additional days can be scheduled. Invasive exotic plant species displace native plant species and can change entire ecosystems. Examples include Scotch Broom and Cape Ivy.
